Sunil Das was an Indian expressionist artist, born in 1939, in Kolkata. He got educated from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata in 1955, then won a French Government Scholarship to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Being one of the country’s post-modernist artists, he explored different styles of painting throughout his career. He was one of the founding members of the Society of Contemporary Artists. His famous paintings include the Bull series, ‘A woman in her Failings’ and the Horse series. Das passed away in 2015.
