Description

Reena Singh was born in the Bokaro Steel City of Bihar/Jharkhand in the year 1975, she did her MFA in Painting from Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi.

At Banaras the artist has nearly spent a decade educating herself, understanding and knowing the human sensibility. This city with worlds famous historical, mythological and religious treasures houses many old cultures and civilizations of our country. This abstract artist portrays in her artworks a different kind of life experienced in the narrow streets and various forms of Banaras in her vocabulary. The abstraction symbolizes different times, light and places in her paintings by the use of bright colors.

The celebration and fulfillment of life is reflected in her artworks. Reconstructing the narrow streets, Ganga Ghat, Purani Haveli, Chowk-Chauraha through her abstract style gives a new dimension collectively. The city attracts people of all ages from all over the world. She has pursued in teaching art and has scholarships and research grants to follow her dreams

Her works have been part of the collections at NASA (USA), Italy, London, Mauritius, Spain (Barcelona), Germany and different cities of India (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata). The artist lives and works from Delhi.
