Shamshad Hussain is the son of the celebrated artist M.F. Hussain, born in 1946, Bombay and it took him 40 years to emerge from his father’s shadows.
Shamshad is known for depicting nature in his works, he explores the deterioration of the environment and the harmful effects of the onset of pollution in Indian cities.
Hussain’s color palette is known for a transformation from greens to browns, blacks and grays and browns mirrors this constant deterioration of nature.
