Suhas Nimbalkar was born in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh in1942. He studied Painting at the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai and Fine Arts under the guidance of Shri N.S. Bendre at the M. S. University, Vadodara. The artist has had fourteen shows at various places around India and solo show at Lalit Kala Akademi in 2005. He also participated in the Ravi Jain Memorial Annual Exhibition (2000-2007). He has exhibited his works at various major group shows in the country and abroad including Perth Biennale (Australia). Suhas Nimbalkar has been a recipient of awards at the Kalidas Art Exhibition and the Sahitya Kala Parishad exhibitions. His work is represented in the collection of the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, and in several private collections.The artist has a penchant for the abstract. His architecture for abstract painting is ever intriguing. Various colour areas enter into a dialogue with each other and arrive at a negotiated settlement. The resultant image is stable but dynamic, sober and thought-provoking. It transports you into another world; wherein formal relations are worked out but with emotional undertones
