Born in 1984 in Madhya Pradesh, Hemant Rao is selftaught abstract artist but with great skill. He received the National Academy Award from Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi in 2019. He also worked at Graphic Studio, Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal between 2005 and 2010. He held his solo shows at Gallery Art & Soul, Mumbai in 2016; Art Spice Gallery, New Delhi in 2013; Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Regional Centre, Bhopal in 2012 and Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi in 2006. His artworks are in the collection of many prestigious Museums like Aarah, Bihar Government Museum; Triveni Museum, Ujjain; Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand; Bharat Bhawan (Graphic Studio), Bhopal; I.T.M. College, Gwalior; Kala Bhavan, Chandigarh and other private collections in Norway, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and South Korea.
