Description

Paramjit Singh was born in 1935 in Amritsar, Punjab. He studied fine arts at Delhi Polytechnic, New Delhi between 1953 and 1958. He is one of the proclaimed Indian landscape artists. He was a founding member of ‘The Unknown’- a group of young artists in Delhi. His artworks create a continuum evading the risk of self-duplication. His works are both in the realist and the representational style. Singh also served as the Head of the Art department at the Jamia Millia University, New Delhi. Singh held his first solo show in 1967 in New Delhi. He has exhibited at both national and international levels. Singh’s works are in the collection of the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi; Chandigarh Museum of Art, Chandigarh and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi.
