Description

V. S. Adurkar was born in 1907. He was acclaimed Indian painter and educator. He contributed enormously to art education in India. Adurkar studied painting at Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai and Slade School in London. Adurkar was appointed as the Director of Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. He was known as the first Indian who was made an Associate of the Royal College of Arts and the Royal Society of Painters Etchers Engravers located in London. His works found place of pride at both national and international level. He passed away in 1992.
