Description
Lalu Prasad Shaw’s signature style remains portraits of Bengali women, couples and faces. He draws inspiration mainly from nature and the immediate socio-cultural milieu of the Bengali middle class. His art is somewhat inspired by Company and Kalighat School of paintings. He mostly works in watercolours, tempera, gouache and conte drawings. His art is simple and graceful with a two-dimensional view which is so identical to the Indian way of making art. He tactfully combines the traditional style with modern socio-cultural representations.
