Umesh Varma:

The journey of this artist has been rather checkered. In 1954, he passed his intermediate with a distinction in physics. With this scientific aptitude, Umesh Varma was planning to become an air man. He formed a group called ‘The Six’ with Jagdish Dey, Manjit Bawa and others and they exhibited at the AIFACS Art Gallery quite regularly. He participated in many solo exhibitions and key group shows the world over.
