Sailoz Mookherjea:

Born in 1907 in Kolkata, Mookherjea received his diploma in Fine arts from Government College of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta in 1932. Sailoz's works mostly reflect his innermost poetic consciousness. With his powerful and magical strokes, he infuses landscapes and scenes of people mostly with an element of illusion. His style mostly seems like one is not looking at a still painting but a motion picture, the fluidity and motion inherent in his paintings make each painting stand out. His works have a sensation like a poem in motion, a musical composition, a dance performance choreographed to perfection.
