Shampa was born in Silchar, Assam. She studied B. F.A. & M.F.A. in Painting from Fine Arts Dept., A.U.S., Silchar and also did M.A. in Philosophy, from Guwahati University, Guwahati. She has participated in more than 65 exhibitions in India and abroad. She also participated in 2nd Dafen Oil International Biennale, Shenzhen in 2020; 6th Beijing International Art Biennale, China in 2015 and 9th International print Biennale org by Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal in 2011. She has won several awards like Junior Research Fellowship from H.R.D, New Delhi, 2010; 3rd All India Digital Art Exhibition, A.I.F.A.C.S., New Delhi in 2013; Award from National Art Museum of China in 2015 and awarded by Prafulla Dhanukar Art Foundation, Mumbai in 2017. Her artworks are part of many national and international collections like National Art Museum of China, Beijing; Dafen Art Museum, Shenzhen etc. Shampa lives and works in New Delhi.
