Fawad Tamkanat (b. 1962) explores ideas about time and where we fit into the world. Born in Hyderabad to a family with strong artistic roots - his father was the famous Urdu poet Shaz Tamkanat - his subject matter comes directly from his encounters with people in the city. He captures these cityscapes, local streets, and women through a wide variety of mediums, including dry-point, etching, watercolour, oil, and acrylic on tarpaulin.
