Fawad Tamkanat (b. 1962) explores ideas about time and where we fit into the world. Born in Hyderabad to a family with strong artistic roots—his father was the famous Urdu poet Shaz Tamkanat—his subject matter comes directly from his encounters with people in the city. He captures these cityscapes, local streets, and women through a wide variety of mediums, including dry-point, etching, watercolour, oil, and acrylic on tarpaulin.
