K. Damodaran
K. Damodaran (1934–2020) was a prominent abstract artist whose formal practice was shaped at the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Madras. Over the course of his career, Damodaran underwent a significant stylistic shift, transitioning from early figurative works steeped in social realism to pure abstraction. Through this shift, Damodaran’s work navigated a wide conceptual spectrum—bridging overt social and political commentary with quiet personal introspection—while consistently maintaining a striking command of colour.
