Shridhar Iyer (b. 1961) is a self-taught Indian contemporary artist. A leading abstractionist, his work explores spiritual themes, setting new trends in post-modern Indian art. Iyer uniquely incorporates materials like khus, straw, wood, and matti into his intricate pieces. His art features fluid, organic forms, often echoing Indian classical dance, creating 'poetry in motion.' He has held numerous exhibitions globally, contributed to installations and films, and received major state and national awards. Iyer is based in Delhi and continues to evolve his distinctive artistic language.
