Painter and sculptor, B. Vithal, studied at Sir J.J. School of Art with fellow artist and wife B. Prabha. Initially, as a struggling artist, he painted billboards and pavilions. He mostly painted large canvases and played with textures and depth. He also dabbled into sculpture. He made both human and animal figures with ease. His sculptures were known for their monumentality and his paintings captured the intimate. He lived in Mumbai and passed away in 1992.
