As a young artist, B. Prabha moved to Mumbai and studied at the Sir J.J. School of Art. Shewas a multifaceted artist who had interests in both music and art. Her marriage with B. Vithal had significant impact on her art. After marriage, her style evolved from abstraction to figurative. She portrayed her rural women with simplicity and strength. She also held her first exhibition with her husband B. Vithal in 1956 and participated in more than 50 exhibitions in India and abroad.
